Having your own vegetable and herb garden is a delightful, enriching experience – you are in control of what you and your family are eating. We are connoisseurs of unusual heirloom vegetable varieties.
Ellen has a passion for growing rare plants and is an active member of the Seed Savers Exchange. We both strongly believe in biodiversity and in protecting the
integrity of the food we consume. We advocate strongly for growing a portion of the food you eat – and purchasing the rest of your food from reputable
organic farmers and growers.
We grow some of our own vegetables and herb seedlings and those we buy are grown in Connecticut and New England. We use certified organic soil for the plants we grow
and the pots are made in Connecticut by a family owned farm
Our seeds come from all over the world to maximize plant diversity but are well adapted to our local growing conditions.
With the very real concern over climate changes, genetic engineering of food, the costs (both economic and social) of buying food grown across the world and
the rising cost of living, learning to cultivate and maintain your own organic vegetable garden is a powerful tool for change.
